Strategic Planning Process
Consists of five key phases:
1. Discovery
- Research: internet, press, ATG documentation, to understand background, competitors, history and ambitions of the organization
- Interviews with key players to understand motivation, philosophy, expectations and to uncover any gaps in knowledge
Interviews include two Advisory Council Members , one Board Member, two teaching artists, one school, one community based organization, one youth, one parent, one prospective board member, one donor
2. Visioning
Work with founder through iterative process to uncover core objective of ATG, and to articulate the "end result" when the mission is "accomplished"
3. Workshop
Full day offsite with key players to create the mission statement, share knowledge of the external and internal factors that affect ability to succeed, express brand personality, construct positioning statement and identify key success factors
Participants include Founder, one staff member, two teaching artists, one school principal, two Board Members, one Advisory Council Member, one donor
4. Brainstorming
Articulate all the information gathered and articulate it around 3 to 5 strategic axes
5. Deliverable
Prepare crisp documentation of the process and the result, including recommended next steps to create the tactical plan

Arts to Grow Vision Statement
By engaging in the artistic process, young people develop an enduring passion for learning and the arts: they welcome new experiences, tap into their imagination, demonstrate innovative thinking and are self motivated.
Arts to Grow's model of using participation in the arts as a catalyst for learning becomes widely recognized and is adopted nationwide.
Arts to Grow Mission Statement
ATG provides young people of all abilities with the opportunity to engage in the artistic process as a catalyst for learning.
ATG optimally matches teaching artists with the specific needs of each school or community based organization who serves children with limited access to the arts.
By nurturing the intellectual, social and emotional learning of young people, ATG helps them to discover their learning styles and to take ownership of their development.
Through its commitment to youth, the arts, and learning, ATG serves the community at-large.
